Welcome to the mapping tool for the Commonwealth Secretariat. The Commonwealth Secretariat, was established in 1965, and supports Commonwealth member countries to achieve development, democracy and peace. They are a voice for small and vulnerable states and a champion for young people. The Commonwealth Secretariat help to strengthen governance, build inclusive institutions and promote justice and human rights. Their work helps to grow economies and boost trade, empower young people, and address threats such as climate change, debt and inequality. They also provide training and technical assistance and support decision-makers to draw up legislation and deliver policies; as well as provide systems, software and research for managing resources, and deploy experts and observers who offer impartial advice and solutions to national problems.
This mapping tool is intended to provide a one-stop shop access to practical, easy-to-use expertise on the existing South-South and Triangular Cooperation Solutions and Mechanisms from the Commonwealth Secretariat, to be used by the government institutions, non-government organisations, as well as development partners and the United Nations agencies, funds and programmes active in the region in their work aimed at advancing South-South Cooperation in the region in compliance with the provisions of the High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation. The mapping tool also offers an opportunity for sharing analytical information aimed at better understanding of the existing regional trends in South-South Cooperation, as well as visualising the capacity gaps that prevent the countries in the regions from taking full advantage of the potential benefits of South-South Cooperation.
